The Organisation Capability Maturity Framework ( OrgCMF™) represents ‘Next Generation Change & Transformation’, designed to address the long standing problem of high failure rates (circa 70%) in change and transformation programs, and equally as important to provide Organisations, Teams and professionals with more accessible, usable and useful tools that are sophisticated enough to address todays Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity & Ambiguity (VUCA).
The OrgCMF™ is underpinned by extensive Management Science Research, and Dynamic Systems Maturity Theory (DSMT). It is the only existing Capability Maturity Model that has a normative scientific Maturity Scale and a roadmap that guides Organisations, Teams and Leaders in the identification of those Capabilities and their Maturities that are relevant to their current context and specific objectives for change and improvement.
DSMT is based on Psychology, Learning, Systems and Economic Science and Theory and as a result identifies the unique improvement/development sequence for the Specific Capabilities that needs to be acquired or built by an Organisation or Team, and equally as important it helps calibrate the specific change and improvement actions for each specific Organisation, Team or Professional, thus mitigating the identified causes of change failure while ensuring change actions gain traction and are sustainable.
DSMT & OrgCMF™ are a dynamic & continuous approach to enable organisations identify and build their key Capability Maturities towards a leadership level, where the organisation system itself becomes Regenerative, Innovative, Productive and Agile, unlike other models which largely present a change management process, with a simple 5 level descriptive scale and focus on change as a single transactional activity i.e. Unfreeze, Change, Refreeze.
It is not necessary to have completed formal training or certification to adopt and gain value from OrgCMF™. OrgCMF™ is designed and presented in a manner that is accessible, usable and useful with some limited familiarisation through reading or short videos, or just trial & error depending on the user preference. There are some terms and language that may be unfamiliar to some people.
OrgCMF™ is designed for both formal and informal use at an Organisation, Team or Individual level.
The Organisation Development Tools Institute (ODTI) has developed and will continue to maintain a foundation competence standard, that some individuals and organisations require to assure consistency, track and manage competence and skills development and can be used for an individual’s career and professional development.
ODTI has a partner network some of whom develop and provide training for Leaders and Managers around Organisation Development & Change. These training partners develop and deliver training and competence development solutions and services which are tailored for their clients and marketplace and may or may not include some or all aspects of DSMT & OrgCMF™.
In order to allow for a baseline standard of OrgCMF™ competence development and measurement, ODTI exclusively defines and controls the Certification Standard. Independent 3rd Parties who specialise in Assessment of Conformance to Standards may be authorised to provide Certification Services by ODTI in certain geographies to the ODTI Certification Standard.
Measurement or Assessment of Certification Standard Compliance is by on-line testing examination.
There is a consistent level of understanding of the theory and application of the related Organisation Development Concepts and language in the context of DSMT & OrgCMF™
Participants understand the core concepts of Change & Transformation Management and both legacy and next generation Change Models
Participants understand Capability Maturity Management and its key role in Organisation and Team Development, and Organisation and Team Performance & Effectiveness.
Participants understand the core organisation science of Dynamic Systems Maturity Theory and the rules that govern its application.
Participants understand the structure, content of OrgCMF™ and the application of both the OMI & TMI Reference Models to achieve specific organisation aims.
Participants have a practical understanding on how to use the OrgCMF™ Digital Platform, in particular to design, configure, build, administer and manage OrgCMF™ Capability Maturity Assessments.
In the context of strategic or tactical application of OrgCMF™ participants are familiar with formal and informal approaches to achieve successful Capability Maturity Building in an organisation.
For each of the objectives above ODTI or its certification partners present a series of on-line questions designed to confirm the above objectives are achieved.
ODTI will maintain and continue to develop a large repository of questions designed to test a participant understanding of any aspect of OrgCMF™ as it relates to the certification objectives.
For every examination of each student, a consistent number of Test questions will be randomly selected to test the participants understanding of each related concept or application of OrgCMF™ to support meeting the objectives above.
ODTI will set a pass rate of (TBA)% of questions that must be answered correctly overall and/or related to any specific objective (Category) above for the participant to be awarded certification. Participants may take the Test/Exam any number of times, however each time a different random selection of questions will be presented.
On passing the test/exam the participant will be registered as having passed the foundation with ODTIand a unique Digital Certificate will be awarded by ODTI.
Certified Professionals may authorise ODTI to confirm to 3rd parties that they have passed the test/exam and hold an ‘OrgCMF™ Foundation Certificate’
Exam participants have a baseline understanding of how organisations work
Exam participants have a baseline understanding of Organisation, Team & Individual Performance Management
Exam participants have a baseline understanding of the key functions in an organisation
ODTI does not provide or underwrite any training or education provided to or taken by exam participant.
ODTI does not provide any warranty as to the competence of OrgCMF™ foundation certified professionals other than knowledge of OrgCMF™ at a point in time.
ODTI does assure stakeholders that every exam/test passed is representative of and consistent with the defined standard for OrgCMF™ Foundation Certification.
